Back to me…
I’ve taken on a new role at work as the technical lead within my group. It’s a lot more responsibilities and challenges and it’s all ramping up fairly quickly. I’m taking on some dedicated accounts which thusly tethers me to a Black Berry and allows these customer types to wake me up or yell at me at will, 24×7. It’s exciting though in most regards and forces me to step up my game both professionally and technically. I like my job increasingly more though it seems the stress level is rising at an equivalent level. I suppose that’ll plateau at some point.
I’ve still got piles of snow on my yard and sheer ice on my driveway. I guess I should’ve shoveled that part but it doesn’t help being on the shady side of the street where the melt rate is dismal compared to those warm bastards on the other side. The mountains have seen their fair share of snow though too and the riding has been muy bueno this season.
So “Airwaves to Vegas” didn’t exactly pan out as expected. The hotel they were offering the free stay in is the classic vintage dive - El Cortez. I check a few reviews for el hotel and while some guests didn’t mind or even enjoyed their stay, others feared for their safety and well-being. All and all though it just didn’t sound like the type of getaway to Vegas we were really hoping to have. So we’re staying at the Mirage on the strip instead and will actually be there over St. Patrick’s Day weekend. We’re gonna catch the The Beattles LOVE by Cirque du Soleil show and hopefully a magic act or circus performance of some sorts. Oh, and gambling… sweet sweet gambling.
Thought for the day: If you encounter a situation where you feel the need to speak into a spinning fan to distort your voice you shouldn’t be allowed to repeat the words, “Luke, I am your father”. Sorry, but it’s played out.

The End
The decline of Western Civilization is officially over and dead now thanks to last night’s Grammys. The worst song ever recorded by anyone at anytime throughout the course of recorded history won a damn Grammy last night. In case you’re unaware of the atrocity I’m speaking to, it was Black Eyed Peas win for “My Humps” in Best Pop Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocal (link). If you’ve never heard the song, just tape yourself scratching a chalkboard and loop it. Not only is this song painful to listen to, but it’s sung by the newest member, of a once great band, who pees her pants on stage–admittedly.
I weep for humanity
Alanis Morissette does a cover, and I absolutely love it. She slows it down so you can clearly hear all the garbage and no-talent hack lyrics that comprise this musical atrocity.

Trimspa Baby!

Kris ask’eth and it became so…
As you may have heard, Anna Nicole Smith passed away dropped dead today at age 39. Mysteriously enough shortly after her 20 year old son passed and shortly after her recent federal appeals win. Foul Play? I’m guessing ephedrin. Also in the air is the paternity battle over her daughter. Rarely do you have fathers arguing paternity, but if Mom’s about to be loaded (condition downgraded to dead) I can see where a squabble could occur.
Drugs are bad, mmmkay?

ATHF

Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim recently had a media campaign to promote their kick ass show, Aqua Teen Hunger Force. How did the residents of Boston respond? They blew that shit up! You can google around for various stories, but I like Fox’s right-winged approach to journalism found here and here
Much more after the jump…
